Contemporary Art: Design Studies
Bow River Water Study

The Bow River was the inspiration for this contemporary art work. The Bow River runs through the city of Calgary, British Columbia. I was three-fourths of the way across the bridge when I leaned over the rail to take in the view under me. I was fascinated with how fast the water was flowing beneath me. The current produced ripples that had a soft surface texture. Yet the water's clarity was crystal clear and I could see the rocks on the riverbed. This perspective was the basis for this fascinating study of design and color.
